My blogging experiences have been pretty fun with the topics presented for this class. So far, I have enjoyed being able to show my personal side with what we are doing in class that have been helpful like tools that we have learned which hopefully can benefit others if they are also struggling with technology. I also really like that the blogs itself don’t have to be formal like they are when using an MLA or APA format. The only downside that I’ve had with blogging is the site itself. Personally, I have always used word for any assignment that I’ve ever done, even if it is through another cite like canvas. What I have learned very early on in the semester is that if I type any work and complete the assignment in word, then try to copy and paste it into the blogging site, the words aren’t legible. This was a huge learning process and an adjustment but something so fixable on my end.
What is interesting about Web 2.0 tool when it comes to teaching is that it allows teachers to have a creative outlet where they are able to collaborate and share what they have made with other teachers so that it may be helpful to them in their classroom for example TikTok. TikTok has become revolutionary for all users as they are able to learn new tips and tricks while also being on it for entertainment. Teachers specifically use TikTok to learn fun and easy concepts for their students to benefit them with their learning and helping them succeed in their educational journey by making learning fun. Educators not only can learn from others but can share their own personal experiences or even create content for their student to watch while they are at home.
When using Generative AI, my initial experience has been extremely informative. Rather than just having AI write out papers, I have been able to use it when I have a question, helping with outlines for papers, or even editing emails to sound more professional. The best thing that it has to offer is being able to create a quick accurate answer that gives me a boost of confidence when feeling stuck or burnt out from doing loads of work in one sitting. People that I’ve asked have had difficulty with the accuracy however, I feel like that depends on what information you are asking for. I do feel like Generative AI is a helpful tool rather than hurtful unless you are using it for the wrong reasons.
Since AI is such a present stable in today’s society, there is no way of getting rid of it, only to work alongside it. As a teacher, I would personally use it as a guide or grading tool. With having multiple classes and many students, AI would cut the grading time in half rather than me doing it all on my own even if there was a TA present. I think with technology present, it will make it pretty easy to detect authenticity. When using AI, if the wording doesn’t sound like the student’s normal terminology, you can put that students assignment into AI to see if their work is genuine.
Hi! I have enjoyed reading your discussion post. I also agree that my experience using Generative AI has been extremely informative. I like how you added ways that you use Generative AI instead of using the platform to write papers and do your work for you. I like that you stated there is no way od getting rid of AI in today's society because it is true! Overall, I enjoyed reading your post and hearing your input on Generative AI.
ReplyDeleteHi! I enjoyed reading your discussion post and the examples you offered in it. I liked how you used TikTok as a revolutionary social media site that allows current teachers access to communicate with one another, but I don't know If I would use it as an educational tool in the classroom.
